The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator ®

The MBTI profile describes certain patterns of human behavior and identifies personality preferences that characterize our behavior in our professional and private lives. With the help of this assessment, people can understand themselves and their behavior, and also assesss other people. It is particularly useful when it comes to communication.

The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI®) provides important information and is more than just a personality profile. MBTI® is one of the most reputable and frequently used personality analysis tools worldwide. In the USA alone, more than 3.5 million people research their strengths and weaknesses on an annual basis. Thanks to ongoing research, the MBTI® is scientifically based, approved and recognized among experts.

There are three main points that characterize the MBTI® theory:

  1. Human behavior is not random, even if it sometimes seems that way. Patterns exist.
  2. Human behavior is classifiable and, to a certain extent, predictable. One can describe how people prefer to receive information and make decisions based on this.
  3. Human behavior is different because there are particular dispositions and preferences. We behave and make decisions based on our particular preferences – other people with other prefences act differently. This “otherness” is the reason or key to successful or unsuccessful communication, for conflicts or their solution, for aversion or understanding and for teams acting ineffectively.
